Uni Knot vs Loop Knot When Fishing With Lures

I've always heard you need to use a loop knot when fishing with lures. I've used both uni knots and loop knots and I can tell you that there is room for both knots. Both loop knots and uni knots are good options for attaching lures to fishing line, and which one is better can depend on various factors.

A loop knot, such as the Rapala knot or the Kreh Loop knot, is designed to create a loop at the end of the fishing line, which allows the lure to move more freely in the water and can improve the action of the lure. This can be particularly useful for certain types of lures, such as topwater lures, that require a more natural and lifelike action to attract fish. I've had tons of success with a shrimp lure tied with a loop knot. I also add a tiny piece of Fishbites on the hook. You'll probably find loop knots can be more difficult to tie than uni knots, especially with thicker lines, and may be less secure.

A uni knot, also known as the Duncan knot or Grinner knot, is a versatile and reliable knot that can be used to attach lures, hooks, and swivels to fishing line. It's easy to tie and is suitable for both monofilament and fluorocarbon lines. The uni knot can be a good choice for fishing with lures that require a more direct and steady retrieve, such as crankbaits or spinnerbaits.

Ultimately, the choice between a loop knot and a uni knot will depend on the type of lure being used and the desired fishing technique. It can be useful to experiment with different knots and techniques to determine what works best for your specific fishing situation.

If you've ever participated in a fishing contest or fun run, there's usually a team shirt involved. If you have 5 team members you'll have 5 opinions on how much you should be spending. Listen, we all want to save money but be aware of extra charges when cost cutting. You might save a little money on the cotton tee itself but after you add the set up costs of each color screen and cost per print, you might actually be spending more. No, I'm not putting down cotton shirts at all, I'm just saying that dri-fit sun shirts are better for active, outdoor events and are not going to empty your wallet. Make sure you are getting a quality sun shirt  that is rated UPF+50.

Screen printing is more cost-effective for larger quantities of shirts with simple designs and fewer colors. The initial set-up costs for screen printing can be higher than dye sublimation, but the cost per shirt decreases with larger quantities.

Dye sublimation, on the other hand, is better suited for smaller quantities of shirts with complex designs and many colors. We do not charge set up fees for dye sublimation but the cost for each print can be slightly higher.

In short, browse our website or contact us and we'll steer you in the right direction for all your apparel printing needs.

Some Ways You May or May Not Know About Avoiding Sun Burns

Sun protection clothing is important in protecting us from skin cancer because it helps to block the harmful UV rays of the sun from reaching our skin. UV radiation is a known risk factor for skin cancer, and repeated exposure to UV rays can damage the DNA in our skin cells, leading to mutations and potentially cancerous growths.

Sun protection clothing is specially designed to provide a physical barrier between our skin and the sun's harmful UV rays. The fabric used in sun protection clothing is often tightly woven and contains special UV-absorbing compounds that can block out a significant portion of the UV radiation. Additionally, many sun protection clothing items are also designed with features such as long sleeves and hooded sun shirts that provide extra coverage and protection.

Hooded UPF+50 Sun Shirt

While cotton shirts can provide some level of protection against UV rays, they do not offer as much protection as specially designed sun protection clothing.

The extent to which a cotton shirt can protect you from UV rays depends on several factors, including the thickness of the fabric, the color of the fabric, and how tightly the fabric is woven. Generally, darker and thicker cotton fabrics tend to provide more UV protection than lighter and thinner fabrics. However, even a thick cotton shirt can only block out a certain percentage of UV radiation, and some UV rays can still penetrate the fabric and reach your skin. It is worth noting that wet cotton shirts provide even less UV protection than dry ones, as the moisture in the fabric can make it easier for UV rays to penetrate through.

Moisture wicking shirts are designed to help manage sweat and moisture by pulling moisture away from the skin and allowing it to evaporate quickly. This can help keep you cool and dry, which is especially important during physical activities such as sports or exercise. However, moisture-wicking shirts are not necessarily designed to provide UV protection.

UPF 50 shirts, on the other hand, are specially designed to provide protection against UV radiation. UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, and it measures how much UV radiation can penetrate the fabric. A UPF rating of 50 means that only 1/50th of the UV radiation can pass through the fabric, providing excellent protection for your skin.

While some UPF shirts may also be moisture-wicking, it's important to note that not all moisture-wicking shirts offer UPF protection. So, if you're looking for a shirt that will protect you from the sun's harmful rays, make sure to look for one that is specifically designed with a UPF rating.

Using sun protection clothing along with other sun protection measures such as sunscreen, seeking shade, and avoiding peak sun hours can significantly reduce your risk of developing skin cancer. It is especially important to protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays if you have fair skin, a history of sunburns, or a family history of skin cancer.

Follow these tips to help avoid sun burns and spoiling your fun in the sun.

How To Choose Promotional Materials To Promote Your Business

One way that B.L. Tees promotes our business is with promotional items. We also always wear our UPF+50 sun shirts with our logo on it. It makes a real impact to have a quality shirt on while talking to customers. Giving out flyers is good but most end up in the trash. Catalogs work great but can be costly to print and ship. Using promotional items is the best way to get in front of potential customers and promote your business. The question is what is the correct course of action for your business. Here are some steps you can follow to use promotional items to promote your business:

  1. Define your target audience: Determine who your ideal customers are and what they would like to receive as a promotional item.

  2. Choose the right promotional item: Select an item that is useful, relevant to your business, and has a high perceived value. This could be anything from a logoed bottle opener to a custom printed sun shirt. You want them to use the item and be reminded of your business, not end up in someone's junk drawer.

  3. Customize your promotional item: Make sure your promotional item is customized with your logo, business name, or other branding elements that will help people remember your business.

  4. Give away your promotional item: Give away your promotional item at trade shows, conferences, or other events where your target audience will be present. You can also give them out as gifts to existing customers or use them as incentives for new customers to make a purchase. Banners and tents are a great way to showcase your logo as well.

  5. Measure your results: Track the effectiveness of your promotional item by monitoring the increase in website traffic, sales, or leads generated as a result of the promotion.

Remember to be creative and have fun with your promotional items. The more unique and memorable they are, the more likely people will remember your business and become customers.

 The Perfect Outdoor Work Shirt

We deal with a lot of businesses that want shirts that can hide dirt stains as well as chemical stains such as bleach or chlorine. We've never had a good option.. until now.
Paragon has released 2 very good options, The XP Cabo and XP Pompano. The Pompano is an all over print that resembles a 2 color digital camo design. The Cabo is an all over design as well but looks kind of like a 2 color tie dye design. They both look awesome and the design is light enough so that they can both be printed using a dye sublimation technique. The only thing we are confused about is that they decided to make the back panel of the Cabo a solid color. They still look great but just seems like an odd choice.

There are many color options available and offer 50+ UPF Protection. These shirts are made of Moisture Management Performance Polyester so they are perfect for anyone working or playing outdoors.
We've been using Paragon for years and they always seem to come up with new styles and maintain a high quality product. We will be adding these styles to our online design lab very soon. Keep checking back or contact us to see how your artwork will look on these shirts.
