Shedding Some Light on UPF and UV Protection Apparel

Many customers ask us "What does UPF mean?".
Ultraviolet Protection Factor or UPF indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation will be absorbed. Material with a rating UPF 50+ will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This material will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly, because only 2% of the UV rays will get through. According to Skin Cancer Foundation, a wet cotton shirt has an UPF of only 3!
Whether you are on a boat or on the beach, any type of clothing can protect your skin against the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. But some material is better than others. Only clothes with a UPF of 15-50+ may be labeled as sun-protective.
We are located in sunny South Florida, as you can imagine our customers either work in the sun or play in the sun. Whether you work on a fishing charter boat or cut lawns for a living, you should be wearing Vapor Apparel UPF 50+ garments. We offer custom full color prints with a "soft feel' that won't crack or fade. These are made of a dri-fit material that is perfect for paddle boarding, scuba diving, or that tropical vacation. Think these are out of your price range? Think again, visit our site to design your own and get an instant price quote.
